Iraqi government: USA willing to support the country's transport Saturday, May 15th 2010 12:32 PM  Baghdad, May 15 (AKnews) - The outgoing Iraqi government seeks to develop its relations with the United States about land and sea transport. The government consultant Salam Al-Quraishi has said today: "There are constant efforts by the economic commissions of the Iraqi government to develop the role of the United States regarding the transport file in the country.""There are more than twelve agreements to be concluded with the U.S. companies, to contribute in the transportation development especially with respect to activating the air and sea transport, which will boost the economic situation in the region," he added."The United States has shown its willingness to support transport and give Iraq more than 40 major studies”, he said. The Transport Minister Amir Abdul-Jabbar Ismail met with Mr. John Dhorshir, Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and discussed with him the main ways to activate the role of the United States.The Cabinet recently allowed the Ministry of Finance to allocate 30 million U.S Dollars by transfers from the general budget.Sa/ae (AKnews)
